DESCRIPCIÓN

Let us show you our O-Face: The worlds first and only overdrive with optically modulated control knobs!

In short, it is like having four pedals in one, combining a tremolo, a tone-vibrato, a pulsed gain, and a killer-sounding original overdrive.

It all starts with a fantastic sounding pure analog high-output drive circuit.   This original circuit was very carefully designed to produce the most authentic overdrive possible, sounding as much as possible like a tube amp being driven hard at high volume.  It then adds an industry first: independent optical knob modulation on each of the overdrive control knobs!

So what exactly does optical modulation mean?  Just as the legendary Uni-Vibe pedals used an LFO-driven incandescent bulb shining onto photo-sensitive resistors to achieve its phasing, the O-Face uses a very similar technique.  However, rather than using an incandescent bulb, the O-Face uses LEDs that will never burn out, and rather than a single bulb, the O-Face requires 4 separate photocell lights to achieve all of its modulations.  That’s right, the O-Face has 4 pulsing lights INSIDE it that make all the of its modulation magic happen!

Here is where things get really interesting:  With the simple push of a button, any of the three overdrive controls (Gain, Tone, and Volume) can be set to oscillate automatically, as if the knob were being turned back and forth by invisible knob-turning elves.   Each modulation has its own independently configurable speed, depth, waveform shape, and phase, allowing nearly endless different sounds to be created.  To top it off, an illuminated ring in each pushbutton pulses to show the exact waveform for each modulation.

It also packs in loads of other less obvious features including:

  • Tap-Tempo to an easily set the modulation speed
  • Tap-Hold feature to ramp to a configurable modulation speed/depth set-point
  • Presets that store all settings including all modulation settings
  • Full MIDI control with both input and output jacks and CC’s for every function
  • neutral tone filter adjustment feature to really sculpt its core tone to get your highs and lows just how you want them to match your rig.  It is also f

All of these features combine to create a truly unique and incredibly versatile pedal.  With all modulations off, it can be a pure overdrive.  With just one of the three modulations on it can create some classic tremolo or vibrato-style sounds.  With several or all modulations turned on and set at different speeds, it can create some really unique warbling sounds never heard before.  Plenty of options are available, and the presets can store all of your greatest hits.

Each O-Face is hand-crafted in small batches with genuine, quality components and individually hand-numbered.  Absolutely everything, including circuit board assembly, machining, powder coating, screen printing,  assembly, and testing, is done in-house right here in Eugene, Oregon, U.S.A.

Features include:

  • 100% analog 4-stage overdrive circuit.
  • A unique soft-clipping diode configuration that achieves both high output and a soft clipping knee for a tube-like sound.
  • Optical independent knob modulation for each of the three overdrive control knobs.
  • Each modulation pushbutton has an illuminated ring that pulses to visually show the exact modulation waveform.
  • Independent control over each modulation.  Each can have its own speed, depth, phase, and wave shape.
  • tap-tempo switch can easily set the modulation speed.
  • Tap-hold feature ramps the modulations up or down to a configurable speed and depth set-point.
  • Neutral core tone filter adjustments (in addition to the Tone knob) can be set to sculpt the high and low frequencies.
  • Three programmable presets can be recalled through hardware (and up to 12 through the MIDI interface).
  • Fully MIDI controllable through a compact 1/8″ mini-jack MIDI interface.
  • Top-quality all-metal hardware and jacks used throughout.
  • The enclosure is powder coated (not painted), and artwork is printed with epoxy ink for ultimate finish durability.
  • Gold-plated contacts on the circuit board (ENIG finish).
  • Real genuine Hammond Manufacturing all metal enclosure.
  • Silicone wire cable assemblies are used for all peripheral circuit board connections.
