Now We Are Ghosts began as an attempt to create a synthesizer out of a reverb. It replaces voltage-controlled oscillators with the unique voice of reverberation, resulting in a complex exploration of sonic space filled with opportunities for creative chaos. Designed by Matthew Farrow with art by the talented Conrad Keely, this device releases long, uneven tones that transit between distortion and clarity—a hollow, fragile voice exhaling into the void. Every control on its front panel does something remarkable, with no secondary menus, facilitating immediate and fun real-time control.
