The Catalinbread Belle Epoch is a faithful recreation of the Maestro Echoplex EP-3 experience—not just “tape-ish EQ,” but the full behavior: the preamp that makes your guitar feel better even with echoes off, the way repeats degrade, the unpredictable wow & flutter, true record level behavior, and musical self-oscillation you can actually play.
“The Catalinbread Belle Epoch is the closest thing to a real EP-3 that I’ve ever played.” — Eric Johnson
The key is Tone/Record Level: it doesn’t affect your dry signal—only the first repeat—letting you go from wispy/airy repeats to thick, louder, slightly gritty repeats in a way that’s much closer to hitting tape harder than turning a generic “tone” knob.
Sway/Mod controls the random wow/flutter warble, and Echo Sustain moves from classic decays into infinite repeats and full self-oscillation (it can get very loud—just like the real thing).
The Echo Delay control is designed to be manipulated in real time, with a subtle “lag/catch-up” feel that mimics tape-head movement rather than a perfectly linear digital delay knob.
Gold’N White limited edition: special finish with limited availability in Europe (not available in the USA, UK, or other markets).

EP-3 mojo without the tape maintenance: a better-feeling preamp, beautifully degrading repeats, and self-oscillation you can play.
