The ALKENE Nashville Overdrive is inspired by the classic “Nashville” drives seen on session boards: organic feel, musical clipping, and gentle amp-like compression. Browne pushes it further by lowering the overall gain range so the entire sweep stays usable, restoring key mids so it doesn’t feel overly scooped, and tightening the low end for clarity and punch.

It excels at crunchy rhythm tones with chord definition, and it can still deliver singing, expressive lead tones when pushed. It’s also a lifesaver for thin or stiff backline amps—adding the right low-mids and a touch of sag so the amp feels more alive. A great starting point: set Level around 2 o’clock, bring in Gain to taste, and adjust Tone to sit in the mix.
