Setback is OBNE’s compact “ideal reverse delay”: it can be textural and free, or tightly tempo-synced; gritty and characterful, or clean and tidy. It follows OBNE’s reverse lineage (Rever → Minim → BL-44 → part of Parting), but focuses on being more controllable and performance-ready while staying fun and surprising.

Three core controls reshape the entire feel:

• Speed changes reverse playback speed for pitch shifting and stretched textures.
• Div sets subdivisions of the reverse timing for tempo-locked movement.
• Clock adjusts the reverse sample rate, changing both delay time and fidelity (clean to lo-fi grit).

Add Mix for wet/dry blend, an Aux switch for tap tempo, held feedback or preset switching, plus alt controls for volume and direct time manipulation. Setback is fully modern: presets, expression over every knob, full MIDI control (including MIDI clock in), and your choice of buffered trails or true bypass. Stereo analog dry-through keeps your dry signal intact.
